A shocking new report out Sunday has confirmed that the U.S Treasury has been hacked by an unidentified party. Multiple reports confirmed the news but nobody is quite sure whether it was a foreign power or some hacking group out to make a point. The Treasury Department confirmed the news although the statement of confirmation was vague.
“The United States government is aware of these reports and we are taking all necessary steps to identify and remedy any possible issues related to this situation,” says a National Security Council rep according to a statement to Reuters.com. The hack was serious enough to have reportedly triggered an emergency NSC meeting at the White House.
