While a variant of people have come forth claiming responsibility for the unusual installations —- some aren’t entirely convinced that they’re being honest. The collection of monoliths popping up around the world first emerged about 20 years ago in Seattle on Katie Hill but didn’t make modern appearances until about 2 weeks or so ago.
The claims of credit made by The Most Famous Artist likely aren’t true.
The new monoliths are almost all identical to the original, er, except for PA where it was admitted that the shop did such out of a publicity stunt. However in England and the other places nobody’s quite sure, per several reports, if the group claiming responsibility is actually responsible for the monoliths.
An artistic group who calls themselves The Most Famous Artist has partially taken credit for some of the monoliths. But after it was discovered that they’re actually selling the monoliths for $45,000 a piece, er, many questioned whether or not they were being honest.
