New York, New York, New York. A regulation in New York City appears to have cost multiple elderly residents at a Long Island nursing home the ultimate price. According to a report in NBC, more than 2 dozen residents at the Gurwin Jewish Rehab Centre in Long Island have now died of the novel Coronavirus. The same centre confirmed that only 3 of those were hospital transfers, but it is presumed that they helped ignite the virus outbreak on campus.

The news comes after New York made it law that nursing homes take in recovering COVID-19 patients. That particular regulation has largely set off a firestorm in New York State considering that makes others very susceptible in their own assisted living environments.
