In a major turn of events for New York — the local government announced today that antibody testing is set to roll out in phases in hopes of understanding just how many people have or had the novel COVID-19 virus.
According to Governor Cuomo, the first phase will begin with about 3,000 tests the same number of tests used by the likes of Germany. Germany has a staggering population of 83m compared to New York ‘s 19m people.
“This will be the first true snapshot of exactly how many people were infected by COVID-19,” the governor said in a statement.
