Tesla has some explaining to do because Tesla appears to have misled its own employees about what would happen to them and their paycheques during the pandemic. On Tuesday, it emerged that nearly all of Tesla ‘s staff will be furloughed and their paycheques cut.
The leaked memo to employees revealed that the furloughing will take effect almost immediately. The move hits thosoe whom are salaried and those who are on hourly pay. According to the leaked memo, Tesla will resume production sometime around 4 May.
VP ‘s and higher are all taking a 30 percent paycut while everybody else ranges from 10-20%. Furloughed workers will not be paid at all, but will retain their healthcare benefits.
