And if that headline creeped you out a bit, imagine being the writer actually penning that one. According to a man named Dr. R.S Sharma, he and more than 100 other researchers have been working on injectable male birth control since about 1984.
Sharma claims that with the assistance of more than 303 volunteers and a few clinical trials — that he and his team of researchers have finally concluded that male birth control is as good as it gets. Sharma notes per a release that his trials had a 97.3% success rate.
The catch? So glad you asked.
Sharma ‘s injectable birth control is injected into the vas deferens (for the non-medical types I’ve included a picture to help you understand how truly bizarre this is.)
It’s worth noting that the birth control cannot be reversed once it is injected into a man’s penis. It lasts about 13 years and the effects of it are indefinite.
