A Texas woman is dead this weekend after an apparent welfare call on her home resulted in a trigger happy white cop killing her. In dash cam footage released Saturday night, Atatiana Jefferson, 28, is seen in her home when the officer arrives. Within minutes the officer is heard shouting “show me your hands” after apparently discovering Jefferson had her front door open (which is what appears to have triggered the call to begin with).
In the video (see here) the officer does not identify himself as police. Jefferson is the 7th person to be killed by Fort Worth Police since 1 June all of which were fatalities.
