A racist brooch apparently caused quite the issue at the Queen’s luncheon

Note to self: don’t wear apparent ancient racist jewelry to the Queen’s holiday luncheon and expect the world not to notice. Case in point? We’re pretty sure this Princess has learned her lesson, especially, since there is now a half-black Princess in the royal family.

Apparently, the particular blackamoor brooch has existed in the royal family for some time.   (see the image, ehum, here).   As NBC explains, the brooch apparently was first worn by Princess  Michael of Kent in 2004 — also at a time when she then had also been accused of racism.

So, what’s the catch 22?   As the internet (which never fails at being the internet) pointed out, ehum,   Princess Markle is bi-racial, and, the intricate blackamoor brooch eerily resembles an African American individual from the times of slavery.

Princess Michael has denied that it was a jab at Markle, although,  we’re not really sure on this one.  Fashion designers Dolce & Gabanna previously  saw themselves in the midst of controversy for nearly  the same kind of jewelry in 2012 during a runway show.
