Childhood officially gone.  This week, we learned that  Heather North (the voice of Daphne Blake from Scooby Doo) died in November at the age of 71. North reportedly died after a long battle with illness, although, her friends and family wouldn’t confirm what that was.

North had initially been skeptical about auditioning for the  voice-role of Blake,  most of which, was persuaded by her then roommate who already voiced Velma.   Beginning in the 1960’s, she was also known for Gidgit; The Fugitive, and The Monkees — all popular television shows from that era.

North was born in 1945 and spent much of her life in her hometown of Pasadena, Calif.
