Two of the world’s most notorious (and yes we mean this literally) spyware companies are making headlines amid their effort to break into the American market. Those companies Paragon Solutions and NSO Group are two companies that produce hacking software that claims that it can hack any device on the planet. They are trying to shop these programs to the American government folks.

The Lowdown

Very troubling news in Washington this week. According to reports, two infamous companies that produce top-of-the-line hacking software (they claim to be able to hack any phone or device on the planet) Paragon Solutions and NSO Group are both making plays to enter the American market. But they’re not making the usual plays for such a market. Paragon produces a program called Graphite while NSO Group produces a spyware program called Pegasus (which is widely considered to be one of the most dangerous hacking programs on the planet.)

The Guardian reports that both companies are cosying up the Trump Administration in quiet hopes that their efforts are successful. Critics, however, have pounced on the effort citing concerns that the program could be misused for unlawful purposes particularly in America where such activities against American citizens are frowned upon.

Their efforts have caught the renewed attention of companies like Apple and the owner Meta of Whatsapp. Both of these companies per the Guardian have reiterated that they will continue to send push notifications to users that they suspect may be targeted by spying eyes (in this case governments.)
