The AP reports that amid the ongoing government shutdown the supplemental program known as WIC has received a cash infusion to keep things going. Per the AP, the program has received some $300m to keep functioning as the ongoing government shutdown continues amid political infighting among both parties. The progrsm helps families buy nutritious food, baby formula, low fat milk and other necessities to keep their babies healthy.
AP also notes that the White House announced earlier this week that the program would be funded by unspent tariff revenues from the past fiscal year.
