The saga over Jimmy Kimmel ‘s eponymous show isn’t over yet. According to reports, a gaggle of Democratic lawmakers are demanding answers from Nexstar and Sinclair over their decision to preempt Kimmel ‘s show entirely at least for now on their stations. That means his show will not air on affiliates owned by either company both of which amount to about 70 ABC affiliates across the United States.

America ‘s saga with authoritarianism continues this week as the battle over Jimmy Kimmel ‘s show continues. According to an announcement, a group of four U.S lawmakers are demanding answers from Sinclair Broadcasting Group and Nexstar Media both of whom pre-empted Kimmel ‘s show for the foreseeable future on the affiliate stations in which they own. Lawmakers and critics, however, have slammed both companies amid claims that there is some sort of coordinated effort to keep Kimmel off of the air. In the same breadth, Trump is now threatening to sue ABC over the reinstatement of Kimmel ‘s show making the second time he’s attempted to corner ABC News for his own personal gain.
“If you suspended a late-night comedian’s show in part to seek regulatory favors from the administration, you have not only assisted the administration in eroding First Amendment freedoms but also create the appearance of a possible quid-pro-quo arrangement that could implicate federal anti-corruption laws,” the lawmakers wrote in their letter to the companies.
