Donald Trump ‘s efforts to take the New York Times to task have been cut short. According to reports, a judge on Friday struck down Trump ‘s $15B lawsuit against the Times. The lawsuit centred around a pair of articles and a book previously written by two Times reporters.

In an action on Friday, a US judge ruled against Donald Trump ‘s massive lawsuit against the New York Times on grounds that the suit violated a federal rule. According to the ruling, Trump will have time to appeal the ruling, though it is not clear if the Trump administration will do so. The federal rule in reference requires a short plain statement of claim which was not filed on Trump ‘s behalf.

In his usual diatribe, Trump claimed in the lawsuit that the Times had become an arm of the Democratic party though the claims were unsubstantiated in court documents. Per the case the claim centred around a pair of articles about Trump ‘s pre-politics time in on and before the Apprentice written by two Times reporters and later mentioned in a series of articles.
