In social media history there are few scams that come close to the sheer breadth of the scam perpetrated by a man known as the ‘Tinder Swindler.’ Now that man Shimon Hayut has been detained in the country of Georgia on grounds that have not been announced yet.

Notorious fraudster (also convicted fraudster) Shimon Hayut has re-entered the news cycle. According to authorities in Georgia, the man infamously and widely known as the ‘Tinder Swindler’ was arrested at the request of Interpol this week. While he remains in custody charges if any against him haven’t been disclosed yet.
He was formally detained on Sunday after landing in the south west area of the country that night. He is best known for the widely watched Netflix doc called ‘The Tinder Swindler’ in which between 2017 and 2019 he preyed on women for personal and financial gain often through a fake online persona which made the story at the time even crazier.
