A now infamous British aristocrat named Constance Marten ‘s fall from grace has been ushered in.  According to reports,   the former society darling and her husband Mark Gordon are both going away for 14 years in the shocking death of their newborn infant.  They were both found guilty of gross negligence manslaughter at London ‘s Central Criminal Court.   Prior to this sentencing and the charge, they were also hit with perverting the court of justice, cealing the birth of a child, and child cruelty during the first effort trial effort (this was their second trial.)

What happened?

Back in 2023 Marten and Gordon went on the run after Marten  quietly gave birth to a newborn girl named Victoria.   This birth came amid multiple  court-ordered removals for four other children at the time that were found to be in danger in the  home they had lived in.

During the emotional trial,   the judge ultimately found that the baby died of hypothermia after being exposed to extreme cold situations that induced high stress. The couple on their part maintained throughout the trial(s) that she had died in a freak accident.

Judge Mark Lucraft had allot to say sending them on their to prison.

“To most right-thinking people, their children are the most precious beings, to be nurtured and cared for,” Lucraft said, per the Telegraph. “To be kept warm, to be fed, even at the expense of parents’ own comfort, and above all to be loved. What you did towards baby Victoria, despite all you claim to have done, can only be described as neglect—neglect of the gravest and most serious type that led ultimately to her death by your gross negligence.”
