Troubled New York City Mayor Eric Adams is staying in the fight.  According to comments made Saturday, Adams isn’t going anywhere despite reports suggesting that he was quietly offered a position in the Trump Administration in exchanging for leaving the mayoral race.  The same reports claimed the offer was made in part to beef up the race against Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani.

“I am running for re-election,” Adams confirmed to reporters outside Gracie Mansion on Saturday.

“There has been so much speculation, communications, announcements of what I’m doing, no matter what I have stated over and over again publicly. So I want to be clear with you. I am in this race, and I’m the only one that can beat Mamdani,” Adams remarked.

Some reports had the position as in the Department of Housing and Urban Development while others had the position as a possible ambassador post out in Saudi Arabia.  On his part, Adams maintains he was never offered a job despite  several inconsistencies surrounding a secret meeting with Trump officials in Florida not long ago.
