The Lowdown

Flight attendants at Air Canada are officially back on the job after employee protests led to walkouts. Earlier this week,  employees ignited protests over  varying disputes — most notably pay disparities and increases.  According to the deal, the airline is proposing pay increases between 8% and 12% according to CBC News — with the deal still needing ratification by the flight attendants in agreement.

The airline does expect to be back up and fully operational within days as they bring staff back to work. A tentative agreement was formally reached by the union representing Air Canada ‘s flight attendants. Union officials have called the deal ‘transformational change’ though details are scarce at this time.
