Donald Trump ‘s campaign against his perceived (and real) enemies continues. According to reports, federal officials confirmed over the weekend that an investigation has been launched into the former Special Counsel.
The Lowdown
Former Special Counsel Jack Smith who famously led two cases against Donald Trump is now the subject of an investigation himself. According to the BBC, the revelation came after federal officials from the Office of Special Counsel confirmed that an investigation had been launched, but, refused to provide further details.
Smith came to further prominence back in 2022 after he was appointed as Special Counsel to investigate Donald Trump ‘s allegations that he led an effort to overturn the 2022 election and later mishandled classified documents.
On part of the case, the office does not have the authority to bring criminal charges though this can be referred to the DOJ.
