The Lowdown
A verdict in Colorado that Mike Lindell surely isn’t going to like. According to reports, the disgraced founder of MyPillow has been found liable for defamation by a jury over bizarre claims he made about an employee of a voting machine company. That employee, Eric Coomer, was awarded $2.3m in damages after successfully arguing that Lindell ‘s claims that he was a traitor to the United States ruined his life and his career.
What happened?
Back in 2020, Coomer was an employee, particularly a security and product strategy director at Denver-based Dominion Voting Systems, when all of this went down. At the time, the same company was also the subject of widespread misinformation and intentional conspiracy theories to sow doubt about the results of the election. Lindell ‘s comments about Coomer were part of those conspiracy theories that he also later aired on his online platform.
In the same case, it has also been revealed that Mike Lindell is roughly $10m in debt previously having had a net worth of at least $60m.
