Suspect in Minnesota shootings of Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses arrested

Vance Boelter who is accused of gunning down Melissa Hortman and her husband, and wounding John Hoffman and his wife all in Minnesota has been arrested.

The Lowdown

Just a short time following the tragic murders of Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, and the hospitalizations of John Hoffman and his wife Yvette — the shooting involved in it all has been caught according to both The New York Times and the Associated Press.    Boelter stands accused of a host of crimes.

Police posted this on Facebook overnight confirming his arrest

Vance Boelter, 57,  stands viciously accused of  fatally shooting Democratic state representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, at their residence in the dead of night.  Boelter is also accused of shooting State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette, also at their home in targeted attacks, seriously injuring them.

He was arrested Sunday near his home in Green Isle, Sibley County.
