When we first began Bazaar Daily almost 25 years ago, we had this idea that we had to pick a side — battle lines if you may. That to care and to care deeply was to shout from our digital doorstep boldly, exclamation point, and often.
Throughout time, however, we’ve come to appreciate that the world rarely takes to the neatly presented boxes society expects us all to live in. People are wild, they’re contradictory. Issues, troublesome, complex, and often misunderstood. And certainty in all its forms — though equally intoxicating nonetheless — shan’t but is rather blinding.
We haven’t abandoned our values, nor do we or are we under any duress to swap one ideological cape for another. But we do find ourselves less interested in bowing to one allegiance over the other, and instead, chasing the real questions that matter.
If by chance our voice appears to have changed it isn’t because it has or that we’ve been bought and paid for — it’s more like a glimmering reflection of a years in the making shift.
Less allegiance, less echo, more truth, further investigation.
Make of it what you will — but we thought it only fair to mention as we chart continued growth and record readership.
Cheers,
The Collective
