Jail Break:  NOLA jail break escapees got help from a village of people, multiple family members & friends arrested report says

In the case of the 10 infamous men who tried to spring themselves from a New Orleans jail complex (only to soon be recaptured),  new details are emerging. According to reports,  the 10 men received help from upwards of 14 people before and after their escapes, and the authorities have all been arrested.

The Lowdown

According to CNN, wild developments in the case of the ten men who made a break for it from a New Orleans jail complex after climbing out through the pipes.  Per the case,  at least 14 people so far have been arrested ranging from direct family members to friends all for their alleged assistance provided to the men. Prosecutors allege that the group in some form provided food, cash, transport, and shelter to each of the men.

Some of the fugitives reportedly received assistance before and after they escaped jail initially.   Some people per the outlet named in some of the arresting reports have not been charged as of yet but are also understood to have provided material assistance to the fugitive group.

A former jail employee is on the hook for allegedly driving escapee Lenton Vanburn to a relative’s home and helping him with several tasks.  Prosecutors allege he not only drove him to said home,  but helped him Facetime family members the day of the escape, but another allegedly offered him a hiding place in an old vacant apartment that he had been hired recently to repaint.

In most other instances, money was sent via popular apps like Venmo and Cash app. Many of those involved also lied to authorities during their initial interrogations further complicating their cases. Most are as it stands facing the felony charge of accessory after the fact.

The reward for the remaining two fugitives Derrick Groves, a convicted murderer, and Antoine Massey, wanted for rape and kidnapping charges has been raised to $50k a piece.
