According to reports, Gavin Newsom has recalled his efforts to have further clemency investigations completed notchhing another win for the pair hoping to be freed once and for all. The pair is in prison for the violent double murder of their parents Jose and Kitty Menendez.
But all is not over yet for the brothers as next month’s hearinng is the first of several steps that they hope will lead to their release. According to the state’s parole board, a 90-day review period would follow the hearing assuming a release was granted though Newsom himself could still block the release entirely at that point. Though his moves to rescind his requests for further clemency investigations indicates that he is willing to let the brothers go free.
