Big news in the Vatican today. According to reports, white smoke emerged from the Sistine Chapel indicating a new Pope has been chosen.

It’s a big day inside the Vatican. According to reports, white smoke has formally emerged from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel. The smoke as per ritual and tradition indicates a new Pope has been chosen. The successor to Pope Francis has not been publicly named as of yet.

UPDATE 1:39 pm

Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost has been chosen as the next Pope according to an official announcement. He has taken the name Leo XIV and is the 267th Pope. Prevost, 69, is the first ever Pope from America marking a big first for the United States.
