Moves that have been confirmed for the first time by Republican (far-right) leadership. According to reports, House Speaker Mike Johnson has gone on the record that the GOP intends to move to gut ‘big abortion,’ which is a term typically used to describe Planned Parenthood.

Marking the first time since Trump took office of their master plan, Republicans have revealed for the first time that they intend to move to defund Planned Parenthood. According to comments made by Mike Johnson during an event related to the Susan B Anthony organization, Republicans are seeking to gut federal funding for Planned Parenthood because it amounts to ‘big abortion.’ Big abortion is typically a demeaning term used to describe the organization.
“In the weeks ahead, the House is gonna be working on the one big, beautiful bill,” Johnson told the crowd during the event. “We’re making it clear to everybody that this bill is going to redirect funds away from big abortion and to federally qualified health centers.”
Defunding Planned Parenthood has been on the Republicans’ menu for decades, however, they have never had enough support for such to happen.
