In an astonishing display Pete Hegseth is once again back in the headlines for his failure to have a basic sense of state security.
The Lowdown
According to several reports, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is once again the subject of claims that he has no idea what he is doing. The New York Times reports that Hegseth has been accused of sharing otherwise secret war information on the encrypted messaging platform Signal.
This is at least the second time Hegseth has been called into question over his use of non-government messaging platforms.
In the new claim, it is said that Hegseth back in March in a chat discussing secret plans for an attack on the Iranian-backed Houthi group included his wife, personal lawyer, and his brother. The chat reportedly included upwards of 13 people.
The Times also notes that the information shared included flight plans for the F/A-18 Hornets that would later go on to attack the Houthi group.
