There have been new developments in the case of DOGE taking a jackhammer to the government and accessing Americans’ personal information. According to reports, the New York judge who initially blocked DOGE’s efforts has now granted one staffer access.
The Lowdown
In an opinion written late Friday, Judge Jeannette Vargas made a change to her original order that barred DOGE’s access to databases containing the personal and financial information of tens of millions of Americans. In the change, Vargas has now ruled that *one* employee identified as Ryan Wunderly will be granted access to sensitive payment and data interfaces only after completing a series of training programs. He must first complete a full training course typically completed by Treasury employees and submit a formal financial disclosure report.
The ruling comes against 19 different states who sued DOGE over DOGE’s so-called ‘cost-cutting’ efforts throughout the federal government.
