Shocking news in Australia tonight as news of an apparent major mixup at an IVG clinic has gone viral. According to reports, an IVF clionic in Brisbane mixed up the embryos of two couples giving one couple the other couple’s embryos resulting in the birth of the wrong baby for the family.
While neither of the families have been identified, the shocking mistake highlights what happens when full attention isn’t present. The Guardian reports that the mistake at the Monash IVF Clinic only came to light after the actual birth of the wrong baby. On part of the clinic, officials have apologised for the huge mixup thoough it is unclear if either of the families intends to actually pursue some kind of consequences against the establishment for their error.
