The Lowdown

According to the Guardian, Republicans in Washington are moving to repeal Biden-era rules that were meant to ensure that America’s waterpipes get much-needed repairs and replacements. The rules were also meant to limit the exposure of lead in water which can have serious consequences for humans. In the rule change, Republicans are attempting to mandate that the government never be allowed to mandate that such pipes get replaced and lead limits on water maintained.

The Guardian notes that Republicans are targeting the rule(s) by using the Congressional Review Act.
