Oscar nominations pushed back amid wildfires in Los Angeles

Unlike the Grammy ‘s the Oscar nominations won’t go on as planned. According to the Academy, the show’s date has now been pushed back.

The Lowdown

The AP reports that the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts and Science has announced that the Oscars are set to announce this year’s nominees a week later. Organizers changed the date due to the ongoing wildfires spreading throughout parts of Los Angeles. The wildfires have killed at least 24 people so far and displaced dozens more.

The nominees will now be announced instead on 23 January.
