Cat food recall announced after popular food brand tests positive for bird flu

Northwest Naturals has issued a voluntary recall of its cat food over the fact the bird flu was found during routine testing.

The Lowdown

According to reports, the food in question is Northwest Naturals Brand two-pound Feline Turkey Recipe Raw & Frozen Pet Food. Both according to KGW have tested positive for the bird flu virus.

The first cat death was reported in Oregon. Elsewhere in Los Angeles four house cats have died after consuming raw cat milk.

Those affected have markings of “best if used by” dates of 05/21/26 B10 and 06/23/2026 B1.
