6 takeaways from the shocking ethics report on Matt Gaetz

With the release of the ethics report came many revelations about the former Congressman that the public may not have been fully aware of. Bazaar Daily has the report (available here.)

Biggest revelations:

1. According to the report, Gaetz paid for sex and drugs some 20 times over several years. These amounted eventually to tens of thousands of dollars in payments for the illicit activities reported.

2. In one section of the report, it is stated that there is substantial evidence that Gaetz engaged in sex with a minor who was 17 at the time of the reported acts. This was in 2017 according to the report.

3. The report concluded that despite the way the far-right tried to make it appear that the committee found that was substantial evidence backing up claims that Gaetz violated several Florida state laws.

4. The committee found that Gaetz violated the state’s statutory rape law.

5. Many of the complaints against Gaetz involve reported sketchy transactions personally authorized by Gaetz on platforms including Paypal and Venmo.

6.It must be reminded that it is a GOP panel led panel that decided to publish the report. According to one report, the fate of the publication of the report was actually decided by two Republicans.
