Disgraced former lawyer Rudy Giuliani is back in the headlines. Despite his efforts to halt the $150m judgement against him, his efforts have failed and his trial will continue.
The Lowdown
Giuliani found himself back in court this week amid last ditch efforts to halt the collection of his assets so they can be turned over to the pair of Georgia election workers he illegally defamed. Giuliani had called the hearing to reportedly ask the judge to delay his trial so he could attend the upcoming inauguration of Donald Trump in January.
During the hearing, Giuliani ‘s attorneys also argued that he has a ‘political right’ to attend Trump ‘s planned inauguration on 20 January despite almost in breathtaking fashion falling from grace.
NBC News notes that Rudy ‘s trial is set to begin on 16 January just days before Donald Trump ‘s 20 January inauguration. The trial will largely center around whether or not Rudy must turn over access to his Palm Beach Florida home and his four World Series rings.
