And the allegations just keep getting worse. According to reports, Gaetz has now been accused of paying women for sex and it just keeps getting darker from there.

The Lowdown

Matt Gaetz’s chances of becoming the next Attorney General are understandably diminishing. NBC News reports that Gaetz is now at the center of two allegations claiming he solicited prostitution at an invitation-only party in 2017. The woman making the allegation, who states she was 19 at the time, is one of two women who allege they were paid for sex by the far-right politician (prostitution is illegal in Florida).

NBC reports that allegations have emerged following an interview with Joel Leopard, an attorney representing two women. Leopard informed the House Ethics Committee that his clients were reportedly paid “numerous times” for sex by Gaetz and expressed a belief that the report should be made public, despite efforts by House Republicans to conceal it.

The allegations

According to the allegations, they date back to a private invitation-only party in 2017 where Gaetz is claims to have been in attendance. While at the party, he was introduced to woman 1 who was 19 at the time and immediately proceeded to recruit her for ‘sex’ in an upstairs bedroom of the same party.

This is where it gets dark. The same allegation claims that Gaetz was later seen having sex with Woman 1 ‘s ‘minor friend’ which she says she witnessed after later ‘walking by the pool area’ later that night.
