TX’s Supreme Court has handed down its ruling in the appeal of Robert Roberson.

The Lowdown

According to reports, the state’s supreme court has ruled that his execution can proceed following a number of delays. His execution is the first of its kind under the now debunked shaken baby syndrome.

Roberson’s daughter died of the so-called shaken baby syndrome in 2003. Medical experts have sunce debunked the theory behind it — which is what sparked calls for the execution to be halted.

Roberson’s last hope is the state’s Republican governor Gregg Abbott. No new date has been set so far in his execution.
