The Lowdown

According to reports, Nigerian authorities have their work cut out for them after a massive prison break saw 281 inmates escape. The escape was in part because of massive floods throughout the area after an overworked dam collapses.

It is the worst dam collapse since it collapsed nearly 2 years ago when 600 people were killed.

Following the 10 September collapse, authorities ha have only managed to recapture 7 of the missing inmates who escaped from Maiduguri’s main prison complex when flooding brought the prison walls down.
