The initial indictment didn’t identify the company involved, however, a bit of internet sluething has found that a report by CNN has identified the company responsible. According to CNN, a company called Tenet Media has been identified as the ‘Company 1’ listed in the original indictment. Two employees of Russia ‘s state run RT News have also been charged in connection to the discovery.
It is the latest known effort by Russian assets to influence overseas elections a feat that Russia still maintains doesn’t actually happen. Kremlin officials stand accused of funneling some $10m to Tenet Media in exchange for media promoting Kremlin talking points and their preferred candidate.
Some of the biggest known right-wing influencers are understood to be on Tenet ‘s payroll including Tim Pool and Benny Johnson.
“We are disturbed by the allegations in today’s indictment, which make clear that myself and other influencers were victims in this alleged scheme,” Johnson wrote in a post on X.
“Should these allegations prove true, I as well as the other personalities and commentators were deceived and are victims,” Pool said on X.
