A wild scam has gone public in California. According to reports, a former crooked finance director at a low-income school district is headed to federal prison after embezzling millions.
The Lowdown
Back in March, Jorge Armando Contreras, 53, pleaded guilty to swindling the Magnolia School District out of nearly $17m all of which he reportedly spent on luxury items he otherwise would not have been able to afford. As a result of his sham, Contreras has been sentenced to 70 months in federal prison according to a press release on the matter.
