Google not eliminating cookies in Chrome after all

Cookies [not the chocolate chip kind] are used by advertisers to track internet activity in terms of advertisements. Google liked the idea; privacy advocated liked the idea, advertisers did not.

The Lowdown

According to Axios, Google has done an about face following a previous shocking decision that the company would eventually ditch internet cookies all together in its flagship browser. The company has now reversed course entirely mostly after advertisers argued that by cancelling cookies, they’d have to spend more with Google ads which unfairly hurt them.
