Two of the world’s most troubled countries are attempting to shore up their arms agreements amid tensions with the West. According to reports, N Korean despot Kim Jong Un is arranging and finalizing details to meet Putin in the coming days.

Reports indicate that the U.S has obtained intelligence that indicates Kim Jong Un is in the planning stages of traveling to Russia for high level meetings. The North Korean leader despite the country’s previous claims they wouldn’t sell arms to Putin — appears to be poised to do just that.

National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson according to reports confirmed America’s suspicion on Monday.

“We have information that Kim Jong-Un expects these discussions to continue, to include leader-level diplomatic engagement in Russia,” Watson said in a statement according to the New York Times (paywall so no link.)

“We urge the DPRK to cease its arms negotiations with Russia and abide by the public commitments that Pyongyang has made to not provide or sell arms to Russia.”
