Even more trouble looms for George Santos amid flags made against many of his ‘donors’ and ‘donations’ made to his political campaign for his Long Island seat.
Incoming Congressman George Santos not only has trouble telling the truth he must now tell the truth to the federal election committee amid reports of improper donations. According to CNN, Santos’ campaign is now under scrutiny from the FEC after they found that there were a series of contributions that noy only had missing information but also exceeded allowable donation amounts. Some of those donations were as high as $25,000 a piece according to the report that first revealed the information.
According to a letter reviewed by CNN,three donors were improperly listed as “Best Efforts/Best Efforts,” “NYCBS/MD” and “NYCBS/Self Employed” – which isn’t acceptable by any standards. Another three donors all made donations of more than $25,000 which exceeds the maximum allowable federal limit.
A response from Santos’ campaign is requested by February 8.
