INDIA — Police in the state of western Gujarat are confirming this afternoon that 60 people are dead following a bridge collapse in the area. Police say that a suspension bridge appears to be the culprit though a cause is under investigation.
The bridge in the town or Morbi had recently been renovated so it was unclear immediately how the tragedy happened. Children are believed to be among the deceased.
