If you’ve ever wondered why Apple would do such a thing never fear you are absolutely not alone. But with the new iOS update to version 16 comes a feature many are realizing that will enable some less than honourable behaviours.

We’re talking about the ability to unsend and edit your own text messages so long as they go from iPhone to iPhone folks. In the new update, users can edit their text messages up to 5 times within 15 minutes and delete them within 2 minutes of actually sending them. Though let’s be clear folks this is not as sly as some think it is as the other user in fact gets a notice on their phone in the thread that a message has been deleted but they cannot see which message it in fact was.

It is not advisable that you use this feature to cheat on your partner. The messages can be still seen from the lock screen in ‘previews’ if a person has this enabled even if you delete it in the thread. We noticed this on social media and decided to point this out…

Elsewhere in the new update you can now recover deleted text messages up to 30 days by simply going into the new folder labeled as such in your text message inbox.
