‘Democratic’ Senator Joe Manchin has once again upend Democratic hopes for large and bold legislation in America. According to reports, Joe Manchin has now turned his back on legislation in America that otherwise would help tackle the growing climate crisis. The AP also reports that Manchin is now refusing to address or support legislative packages that include energy; climate change, or tax increases on the rich or large corporations.
Manchin will only apparently support the latest Democratic effort to pass legislation if it only is limited to pharma prices and subsidies for purchasing healthcare.
“Political headlines are of no value to the millions of Americans struggling to afford groceries and gas as inflation soars to 9.1%,” Manchin said in a statement via his staff to the AP. “Senator Manchin believes it’s time for leaders to put political agendas aside, reevaluate and adjust to the economic realities the country faces to avoid taking steps that add fuel to the inflation fire.”
