This week the app almost anybody is familiar with at this point found itself in the midst of reports of a major MacOS security flaw. According to reports, the flaw has now been fixed but people on Macbooks should doublecheck just to make sure. When it first emerged it was found that microphones weren’t going offline after ending a conference call which of course and rightfully so caused many to be a little weary of the app entirely.

Zoom confirmed in a statement to the media on Friday that the bug has since been repaired and all users are advised to ensure they update their app on their Macbooks.

We experienced a bug relating to the Zoom client for macOS, which could show the orange indicator light continue to appear after having left a meeting, call, or webinar. This bug was addressed in the Zoom client for macOS version 5.9.3 and we recommend you update to version 5.9.3 to apply the fix.
