American pharmacies are stepping up to the plate to ensure people can get the masks (the right kind) that they need. According to numerous popular chains (Kroger; Riteaid, and others), free N95 masks are either now available or will be available in the coming days. The masks are being distributed from within what is known as the Strategic National Stockpile (that’s a super secret place that houses things for pandemic purposes and to protect public health.)
“Wearing a mask is a critical way to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” the Department of Health and Human Services said on its website.
“Free N95 masks are available to pick up at local pharmacies and community health center sites across the country. Every person is allowed up to 3 free masks pending availability.”
