According to the NRA, its board has once again re-elected Wayne LaPierre for another bout as the groups’ leader. The move comes amid heavy scrutiny over the past few years over financial corruption; Americans realising they’ve lied too, and the fact that LaPierre was once accused of stealing from his own people to fund a lavish lifestyle.
The announcement appears to have been made in a tweet where other top nominees were also announced.
“The proceedings in Charlotte were an amazing celebration of NRA fellowship and freedom,” Cotton said in a statement that accompanied the tweet. “Under the direction of Wayne LaPierre, the NRA is strong and secure – well positioned to chart its course for the future.”
