Inside one of the world’s most famous prisons —— inmates have themselves long battled with the Coronavirus. Now, a panel of three judges has ruled that despite it being a little too late —- prison officials must cut the population by at least half immediately. The move will likely require them to parole nearly 1,100 people.

Prison officials also have the option to transfer people, however, due to other prisons also facing their own Coronavirus bouts —- that somewhat doesn’t seem all that likely. CA state officials are still mulling the idea of attempting to have the order reversed, although, a reversal doesn’t seem likely considering their initial gross negligence that led to a mass prison outbreak.
