On Thursday, Chief Justice John Roberts was sworn in as presiding officer over the trial — while 99 Senators were sworn in as jurors. Interestingly, McConnell was sworn in as a Senator although he has already publicly pledged his willful-biasedness.
Shortly after noon today, 7 House Managers, including Rep. Adam Schiff presented the high-crimes charges against Donald Trump.
“Using the powers of his high office, President Trump solicited the interference of a foreign government, Ukraine, in the 2020 United States presidential election,” he said, laying out the abuse of power charge.
