But there’s a major caveat. According to reports, Weinstein has reached the deal mentioned although at least 48% of that deal will go to lawyers and legal fees. Also interestingly enough, Weinstein would not be required to admit any wrongdoing per terms of the settlement.
The settlement reportedly includes more than 30 of Weinstein ‘s reported victims but at least 2 of them and Ashley Judd intend to challenge the settlement or fully go to trial.
The settlement would become part of The Weinstein Company ‘s bankruptcy proceedings and would settle nearly all of the suits against the company and Weinstein.
